If during the tour of
Rome we're asked to stop for lunch, these are some of the restaurants
we suggest. They're all pretty good and not too expensive (a good meal
is between 15 and 25 Euros including drinks) and located in
different parts of the city so there's always one at hand when
people get hungry! |

Sora Rosa
- This is the restaurant on the
Old Appian Way
where you eat out in the garden and they're famous for their
chicken.
Closed on Mondays.

Bucci
- This is in Castelgandolfo, it's not in the city, but it's really a great
place. Overlooking a beautful lake and two steps away from the
Pope's Summer Residence. Outstanding foods and wines. Unforgettable panorama and
desserts!
Closed on
Wednesdays.

Da Franca
- This place is really something else, they don't
even have a name or a sign outside. We call it "Franca's" by the
name of the cook. Right on the Appian Way, operates as a
restaurant since the 16th Century! Not much of a menu, but really
good food and really inexpensive.
Phone +39-06-5136792 address: Via Appia Antica, 28.
Website? Credit cards? Are you kidding?
Closed on Saturdays and Sundays. |

short walking distance from the Vatican. Ideal for lunch before or
after visiting St. Peter's and/or the Sistine Chapel. No website.
Address: Piazza della Rovere 108 00165 Roma Tel. 066875797.
